At A Glo, we believe that being part of our community means more than simply having a business in Janesville. It means showing up, lending a hand, raising awareness, and using what we have to make an impact where we can.
That’s why the Race for Freedom 5K is an event that means so much to our team.
On Saturday, September 26, our A Glo team joined the community for the Race for Freedom 5K Run/Walk, hosted by Christ the Rock Church in Janesville. The annual event brings people of all ages and fitness levels together for something much bigger than a Saturday morning run: raising awareness and funds to help combat human trafficking and support victims both locally and around the world. More Than a 5K
Sure, there was running. There was walking. There was probably some questionable pre-race decision-making about how much coffee was appropriate. And there was definitely a finish line.
But the reason everyone was there went far beyond the race itself.
Human trafficking is a devastating reality that affects people around the world, including right here in Wisconsin. The Race for Freedom helps bring attention to that reality while raising funds for organizations working to support victims and survivors and prevent trafficking.
The 2026 race supported several organizations involved in anti-trafficking work, including efforts focused on survivor care, outreach, education, intervention, and providing resources for people rebuilding their lives. (Christ the Rock Church)
For us, that’s what makes an event like this worth showing up for.

Why A Glo Gets Involved
Community impact has always been part of who we are at A Glo.
We don’t believe that making a difference always has to look like a huge gesture. Sometimes it looks like sponsoring an event. Sometimes it’s donating. Sometimes it’s volunteering. Sometimes it’s simply using our platform to help more people learn about a cause that deserves attention.
And sometimes it’s putting on your running shoes and getting a little sweaty for something bigger than yourself.
A Glo was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Race for Freedom, and we’re grateful to be surrounded by other local businesses and community members who believe in supporting meaningful causes.
A special shoutout goes to our neighbors at Mainstream Boutique, who also sponsored the event. We love seeing local businesses come together to support something that reaches far beyond our own storefronts.

Showing Up Is Where Change Starts
One of the things we love most about Janesville is the way our community comes together.
Events like the Race for Freedom are a reminder that we don’t have to personally solve a problem to be part of making a difference. We can learn. We can talk about it. We can support organizations doing the work. We can show up.
And when a group of people does those little things together, they can create something much bigger.
So, yes — we ran a 5K.
But more importantly, we ran for freedom.
We’re grateful to Christ the Rock Church for continuing to bring our community together around such an important cause, and we’re proud that A Glo could play a small part in supporting the mission.
Because for us, being a part of this community means more than being a place where people come to get their hair, skin, nails, or wellness services taken care of.
It means showing up for the people and causes that matter.
